INVT Electric India Unveils Advanced Industrial Automation Portfolio, Launches GD290 VFD at Automation Expo 2026
Jul 29, 2026
INVT Electric India showcased its latest portfolio of industrial automation and renewable energy technologies at Automation Expo 2026, held from July 22-25 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai. The company used the industry event to introduce its new GD290 Series Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) while demonstrating a range of intelligent automation solutions designed to improve operational efficiency, reduce energy consumption and support the transition towards smart manufacturing across Indian industries.
During the four-day exhibition, INVT attracted significant interest from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), system integrators, machine builders, distributors, consultants and industrial users. Through live product demonstrations and technical interactions, visitors gained practical insights into how integrated automation technologies can optimise industrial processes, enhance equipment reliability and lower operating costs in sectors such as manufacturing, material handling, water management and renewable energy.
A key highlight of the exhibition was the launch of the GD290 Series Variable Frequency Drive (VFD), developed to provide precise motor control, improved energy efficiency and dependable performance across a wide range of industrial applications. The drive is designed to meet the growing demand for intelligent motor control systems as industries increasingly adopt digital manufacturing technologies and energy-efficient production practices.
Alongside the new product launch, INVT demonstrated several solutions from its automation portfolio, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), servo systems, crane automation solutions, air compressor control systems, booster pump solutions and solar technologies for both on-grid and off-grid applications. The company also showcased the GD350-IP55 VFD Demo Kit, highlighting its resistance to dust and water ingress, making it suitable for harsh industrial operating environments where equipment durability and reliability are critical.
According to Zhang Zhijun, General Manager of INVT Electric India, the strong response to the GD290 Series and IP55 drive solutions reflects the increasing focus among Indian manufacturers on energy-efficient automation and intelligent motor control. He noted that the company remains committed to providing reliable and cost-effective technologies that help industries improve productivity while supporting sustainable industrial growth.
India's industrial automation market has been expanding steadily, driven by rapid industrialisation, the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies, increasing demand for factory digitalisation and government initiatives such as Make in India and the National Programme on Advanced Manufacturing. Variable Frequency Drives have become an essential component in this transformation, as they enable precise speed control of electric motors while significantly reducing electricity consumption in applications such as pumps, fans, compressors and conveyors. Since electric motors account for a substantial share of industrial power usage, energy-efficient drive systems are playing an increasingly important role in helping industries reduce operating costs and meet sustainability objectives.
Automation Expo is India's largest exhibition dedicated to industrial automation, robotics, instrumentation and digital manufacturing technologies. The event serves as a key platform for technology providers, manufacturers and engineering companies to showcase innovations that are shaping the future of smart factories and connected industrial operations, reinforcing India's growing position as a major manufacturing and automation hub.
