ITI Floats Tender for Solar Module Manufacturing Line up to 500 MW Capacity
Mar 17, 2026
ITI Limited, a public sector enterprise under the Department of Telecommunications, has invited bids for setting up an automated solar module manufacturing line with capacities of 500 MW, 250 MW, and 100 MW at Naini in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The project will be executed on a turnkey basis.
The deadline for bid submission is April 4, 2026, with bid openings scheduled for the same day. Interested bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 10 million, along with a tender document fee of Rs 20,000.
The scope of work includes design, supply, installation, commissioning, and optimization of the manufacturing line. It also covers operation and maintenance, along with a buyback provision for an existing 18 MW module line and a two-year warranty for the new setup.
Selected bidders will need to provide performance security of up to 5% of the order value during the initial phase, which will increase to 10% during the warranty period after commissioning. Additionally, they must deploy technical personnel for round-the-clock maintenance support for one year.
The manufacturing facility is expected to produce high-efficiency solar modules of up to 700 Wp, using large-format solar cells. Bidders must also ensure stringent quality standards, including minimal cell breakage rates and successful trial production runs before full commissioning.
To qualify, bidders should have prior experience in delivering solar module manufacturing lines within the last seven years, along with a minimum annual turnover of Rs 200 million over the past three financial years and a positive net worth.
The project is targeted for commissioning within 10 months, contributing to the expansion of India’s domestic solar manufacturing capabilities and supporting the country’s renewable energy goals.
