Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA) Issues Expression of Interest (EOI) For Selection of Solar Power Developer(s) for Setting up of Grid Connected Ground Mounted Solar Photo Voltaic Power Plant(s) in the State of Jharkhand in Build

Jan 01, 2025

JREDA has issued Expression of Interest (EOI) for Selection of Solar Power Developer(s) for setting up of Grid Connected Ground Mounted Solar Photo Voltaic Power Plant(s) in the State of Jharkhand in Build Own and Operate (BOO) Mode.

Pre-bid meeting will be held on 6th January 2025. Interested bidders must submit their proposals by January 15, 2025. EOI will be opened on January 17, 2025.

The Jharkhand government has developed the “Jharkhand State Solar Policy 2022.” Under the Policy, the state has set a target to develop 4,000 MW of solar capacity in the coming years. Out of the total capacity addition target, the state has envisaged developing 3,000 MW of solar power capacity through utility-scale solar project development. The policy has encouraged developers to establish solar power projects in the state through various incentives and policy initiatives to smoothen the project approval and execution process.

Under this Expression of Interest (EOI), JREDA wants to gather the details of interested bidders who are willing to develop solar projects in the state of Jharkhand. Based on the information, JREDA shall create an implementation plan for facilitating the development of solar projects in the state as per applicable regulatory provisions.

Project developers can evaluate the availability of land and likely project capacity they can develop and provide the details of the nearest evacuation facility for grid integration.

The minimum solar capacity to be developed by the developer shall not be less than 500 KW. Successful bidders must identify suitable land and design, build, and construct the energy evacuation infrastructure. They will sign a long-term PPA with state DISCOMs for 25 years. Min capacity of each project is 500 kW. Bidders can submit the proposal under three categories:

  • Category A: 500 kW to 2 MW
  • Category B: 2 MW to 10 MW
  • Category C: Above 10 MW
