Jan 16, 2026

Juniper Green Energy has commissioned an additional approximately 72 MWp of solar capacity as part of its 133 MWp hybrid power project in Solapur district, Maharashtra, completing the project’s entire 108 MWp solar component nearly 10 months ahead of schedule. The commissioning was carried out through its subsidiary, Juniper Green Spark Ten.

According to the company, the latest phase of the solar project was commissioned on January 10, 2026. Earlier, Juniper Green Energy had commissioned around 36 MWp of solar capacity under the same project on September 25, 2025, marking the first phase of development.

The Juniper Green Spark Ten hybrid project has a PPA capacity of 133 MWp, comprising 108 MWp of contracted solar capacity along with an installed wind capacity of 25 MW. The power purchase agreement for the project was signed with the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) on November 18, 2024. The project’s Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD) is set for November 17, 2026.

Commenting on the milestone, Ankush Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Juniper Green Energy, said the early completion of the solar component reflects the company’s strong execution capabilities and its ongoing contribution to meeting India’s growing demand for clean energy.

Separately, the company recently commissioned 60 MWh of its 100 MWh merchant battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Rajasthan, which it describes as India’s first operational merchant BESS. With these additions, Juniper Green Energy’s total operational capacity has reached 1.66 GWp.
