Renewable energy developer Juniper Green Energy is set to launch its Rs 1,800 crore Initial Public Offering (IPO) on July 30, 2026, marking another significant public market offering from India's fast-growing clean energy sector. The issue, comprising a fresh issue of equity shares, has been priced in the Rs 214-225 per share range and is aimed at strengthening the company's balance sheet, funding investments in key subsidiaries and supporting its next phase of growth.

The IPO will open for public subscription on July 30 and close on August 3, 2026, while the anchor investor portion is scheduled to open on July 29. Investors can bid for a minimum of 66 equity shares, with subsequent bids in multiples of 66 shares. The company has also announced a Rs 21 per share discount for eligible employees participating through the employee reservation category.

According to the company's offer documents, a substantial portion of the proceeds will be utilised to repay or prepay outstanding borrowings, thereby reducing debt and improving financial flexibility. Juniper Green Energy also plans to invest in its material subsidiary Juniper Green Gamma One and subsidiaries Juniper Green Kite and Juniper Green Power Five, enabling them to retire part of their existing debt. The remaining funds will be allocated towards general corporate purposes, supporting future business expansion and operational requirements.

The IPO comes at a time when India's renewable energy industry is witnessing robust investment activity, driven by rising electricity demand, favourable government policies and ambitious clean energy targets. Companies across the solar and wind sectors are increasingly accessing public markets to finance large-scale capacity additions, strengthen their capital structures and accelerate project execution.

Juniper Green Energy has established a diversified renewable energy portfolio spanning utility-scale solar, wind and hybrid power projects, with assets at various stages of development, construction and operation across multiple Indian states. The company focuses on developing grid-connected renewable energy projects and supplies power through long-term agreements with central and state government agencies as well as commercial and industrial consumers. Such long-term power purchase agreements provide stable revenue visibility and support project financing.

India aims to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based installed power capacity by 2030, making substantial private sector investment essential for expanding renewable energy infrastructure. Capital raised through public offerings such as Juniper Green Energy's IPO is expected to play an important role in financing new renewable energy projects, modernising power infrastructure and supporting the country's transition towards a low-carbon energy system.

The IPO is being managed by ICICI Securities, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets, JM Financial and Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, acting as the Book Running Lead Managers. The offering is expected to attract interest from institutional and retail investors seeking exposure to India's rapidly expanding renewable energy sector, which continues to benefit from strong policy support, increasing power demand and sustained investment momentum.
