Jupiter International Wins Rs 64.95 Crore MSEDCL Contract for Off-Grid Solar Pumping Systems

Jan 20, 2026

Jupiter International has received a Letter of Empanelment (LoE) valued at Rs 64.95 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) for the supply of off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems. The order has been awarded under the Maharashtra government’s Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana (MTSKPY), a scheme aimed at promoting solar-powered irrigation for farmers.

Under the empanelment, Jupiter International will be responsible for the manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and maintenance of solar water pumping systems across the state. The initiative is expected to support farmers by providing reliable irrigation solutions while reducing dependence on diesel-powered pumps.

Commenting on the development, Akash Garodia, Promoter and Whole-Time Director at Jupiter International, said the empanelment represents a significant milestone in the company’s efforts to deliver sustainable energy solutions at the grassroots level. He noted that solar irrigation not only replaces fossil fuel-based alternatives but also has the potential to improve farm productivity, enhance water accessibility, and contribute to the decarbonisation of India’s agricultural sector.

As part of the programme rollout, Jupiter International plans to implement a farmer awareness campaign using digital channels such as WhatsApp and SMS, along with regional outreach networks. The initiative will focus on informing beneficiaries about the scheme’s advantages, application procedures, and installation schedules.

The company stated that its entry into the solar pumping segment reflects a strategic expansion aligned with its broader objective of accelerating India’s clean energy transition through scalable and sustainable solutions. Leveraging its expertise in solar manufacturing, Jupiter views the initiative as a natural extension of its renewable energy portfolio.

Jupiter International currently operates a 959 MW high-efficiency solar photovoltaic cell manufacturing facility in Himachal Pradesh. The company highlighted that this manufacturing base positions it well to expand into solar-powered applications by integrating advanced technologies, strengthening domestic production, and maintaining a strong focus on quality, reliability, and long-term impact.
