Kosol Energie Commits Rs 90,000 Crore at Vibrant Gujarat 2026 for Expansion in Solar, Green Hydrogen, and Ammonia
Jan 20, 2026
Kosol Energie has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) involving a proposed investment of Rs 90,000 crore at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2026, held on January 12 in Rajkot. The agreement reflects a major step toward strengthening India’s clean, sustainable, and self-reliant energy infrastructure.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, along with senior government officials and industry leaders, underscoring the government’s continued emphasis on renewable energy deployment and green industrial growth.
Under the leadership of Chairman and Managing Director Kalpesh Kalthia, Kosol Energie’s investment plan aligns with national initiatives such as Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and the Viksit Bharat 2047 vision. The company intends to expand its footprint across solar energy manufacturing, green hydrogen production, and green ammonia development—sectors viewed as central to India’s long-term clean energy strategy.
The proposed investment will be directed toward establishing advanced solar module manufacturing facilities, next-generation research and development centres, large-scale renewable energy parks, and integrated green energy ecosystems. These developments are expected to reinforce Gujarat’s status as a leading destination for clean energy innovation and manufacturing.
Beyond infrastructure development, the initiatives are projected to generate more than one lakh direct and indirect employment opportunities, stimulate regional economic activity, and enable international partnerships in renewable energy technologies and green industrial solutions.
Commenting on the development, Kalpesh Kalthia said that the presence of national and state leadership at Vibrant Gujarat 2026 highlights the government’s strong commitment to sustainable development. He noted that Kosol Energie’s fully automated solar manufacturing capabilities and its installed base of over 2.5 GWp of solar PV projects across India demonstrate the company’s confidence in the country’s renewable energy potential.
Kalthia further added that the company has earned global recognition for its technological capabilities and execution strength, including being ranked among the world’s Tier-1 solar manufacturers by Wood Mackenzie. According to him, Kosol Energie views renewable energy not merely as a technology domain but as a transformative force supporting energy independence, economic growth, and environmental responsibility.
The company also stated that it remains open to evaluating additional large-scale investments across other Indian states, with the objective of accelerating India’s progress toward Net Zero targets while creating sustainable employment opportunities for local communities.
