MAHAPREIT Seeks Developers for 2 MW Rooftop Solar Installations in Maharashtra

Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology (MAHAPREIT) has issued a tender to develop 2 MW of rooftop solar capacity in Maharashtra under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model.

The projects will be installed on buildings owned by the Valsad District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union located in Nagpur.

Bid Submission Details
The deadline for submitting bids is February 10, 2026, and the bids will be opened a day later on February 11, 2026.

Interested bidders must submit:

• An earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs225,000 (~$2,482) per MW
• A bid guarantee fee of Rs112,500 (~$1,241)
• A tender fee of Rs10,000 (~$110) plus 18% GST

Project Scope and Timeline
The selected developer will be responsible for the complete execution of the project, including:

• Design and engineering
• Procurement and supply of equipment
• Installation, testing, and commissioning
• Operations and maintenance for a period of 25 years

The rooftop solar systems must be commissioned within 12 months from the award of the contract.

All solar modules and cells used must be listed under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM), List-I and List-II, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, bidders must have prior experience in grid-connected solar installations. Specifically, they must have:

• Commissioned solar projects totaling more than 1 MW cumulative capacity, and
• Completed at least one grid-connected solar project of over 500 kW

From a financial standpoint, bidders must demonstrate either:

• A net worth of at least Rs2.5 million (~$27,570) over the last two financial years, or
• A minimum annual turnover of Rs10 million (~$110,280) during the past three financial years

Through this tender, MAHAPREIT aims to expand rooftop solar adoption in Maharashtra while leveraging the RESCO framework to promote long-term clean energy deployment.
