Mehru Wins INR 26 Crore Power Grid Contract, Enhancing Quality Power’s Position in Transmission Market

Nov 26, 2025

Mehru Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Pvt. Ltd., a key subsidiary of Quality Power Electrical Equipments Ltd. (QPEEL), has secured a Rs26 crore order from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. for the supply of 400 kV and 220 kV oil-cooled current transformers—the largest single order to date for this product category.

The win further solidifies Mehru’s leadership in the 132 kV to 500 kV high-voltage instrument transformer segment. The contract covers the manufacturing and supply of oil-cooled current transformers essential for high-voltage substation operations, expanding the company’s presence in India’s growing transmission infrastructure market.

According to Sanjog Mhatre, Chief Business Officer at QPEEL, this order represents the biggest milestone yet for the company’s instrument transformer division and underscores the group’s strengthening capabilities across the power transmission value chain. He noted that increasing investments in grid expansion and renewable energy integration continue to create strong demand for high-voltage components such as transformers, reactors, and power quality systems.

The project will be executed over 12 months, with revenue beginning to accrue from Q4 FY2025–26. Mehru will complete the order using its existing manufacturing facility in Bhiwadi, demonstrating the company’s operational scalability and contributing to QPEEL’s improved financial visibility.

This development aligns with Quality Power’s strategy to deepen its domestic market footprint while leveraging synergies across its subsidiaries, reinforcing the group’s position as India accelerates transmission upgrades and renewable energy deployment.
