Military Engineer Services Invites Bids for Operations and Maintenance of 1 MW Solar Plant at Gwalior Air Force Station

Jan 27, 2026

Military Engineer Services (MES) has issued a tender for the operations and maintenance (O&M) of a 1 MW solar power project located at the Air Force Station in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

The bid submission deadline is February 13, 2026, with bids scheduled to be opened on February 20, 2026. Interested bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit (EMD) of Rs 13,980.

Selected bidders must furnish a performance security equivalent to 5 percent of the total contract value within 28 days of receiving the letter of acceptance. The estimated contract value is Rs 699,000, and the contract duration is 330 days.

Eligibility criteria specify that bidders must be enlisted with MES under Class ‘E’ or higher categories, subject to satisfactory performance records as reflected in workload returns or reports issued by the competent engineering authority.

MES will provide the electric power supply required for execution of the work, up to a maximum of 5 kW (single-phase or three-phase), at the designated incoming terminal shown on the site plan. The main switch and kWh meters for measuring energy consumption will also be supplied and installed by MES. However, the contractor will be responsible for arranging all necessary cabling and fittings from the main switch to ensure adequate electrical supply for the project.

For context, MES had earlier floated a tender for the installation of 1.1 MW rooftop solar systems at the Jaipur Military Station. That project carried an estimated cost of Rs 49 million and was slated for completion within 180 days from site handover.
