MOIL Floats Tender for 7 MW Solar Power Project in Maharashtra
Nov 03, 2025
State-run manganese mining company MOIL Ltd. has announced a tender for developing a 7 MW solar power project at its Parsoda Mine in Maharashtra’s Nagpur district.
The deadline for bid submission is December 8, 2025, with bids scheduled to be opened on December 10, 2025.
The project, estimated at Rs 329 million (approximately $3.71 million) excluding GST, must be completed within five months from the date the contract is awarded.
Bidders are required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs 5 million (~$56,400), while the selected bidder must provide a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) amounting to 10% of the total project cost. An additional 10% PBG of the total operation and maintenance (O&M) cost will also be mandatory.
The scope of work includes complete design, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the solar plant, along with five years of O&M services. The O&M costs are fixed at 9.44% of the quoted basic price, allocated as 18%, 19%, 20%, 21%, and 22% over the five consecutive years, respectively.
To qualify, bidders must have executed solar projects of at least 3 MW capacity and completed either:
• Three similar projects worth 40% of the estimated cost each,
• Two projects worth 50%, or
• One project worth 80% of the project value.
Additionally, the average annual turnover of participating companies must be at least 30% of the estimated cost over the past three fiscal years (2021–2024).
This initiative follows MOIL’s recent tender for a 15 MW grid-connected solar project at Rajgarh Khas in Madhya Pradesh, further reflecting the company’s growing focus on renewable energy adoption and sustainable operations.
