NLC India Renewables and OREDA Ink MoU to Boost Renewable Energy Development in Odisha

NLC India Renewables (NIRL), a subsidiary of NLC India, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) to jointly develop solar, hybrid, rooftop, and energy storage projects across the state.

The MoU was formally exchanged at the Global Energy Leaders’ Summit (GELS) 2025 held in Puri. The agreement was signed by Saidutta Biplab Keshari Pradhan, Additional Secretary, Department of Energy and CEO, OREDA, and Rohit Kumar Pandey, Regional Manager, NLCIL, Bhubaneswar, representing NIRL.

The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister of Odisha, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, along with senior state officials, including Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary to the Department of Energy, Odisha; Dr Satyapriya Rath, Managing Director, GRIDCO; and Dr Debi Dutta Tripathy, OFS and Financial Advisor-cum-Additional Secretary, Department of Energy, Odisha, among other government representatives.

According to NIRL, the partnership represents a strategic initiative to strengthen Odisha’s renewable energy ecosystem and support the state’s broader transition toward clean and sustainable energy sources.
