NTPC REL Invites EPC Bids for 250 MW Solar Project with 200 MWh Battery Storage in Uttar Pradesh
Jan 03, 2026
NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has issued an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) tender for setting up a 250 MW ground-mounted solar photovoltaic project integrated with a 50 MW/200 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at Sitapur in Uttar Pradesh.
The scope of the tender covers end-to-end project execution, including detailed design, engineering, manufacturing, supply of solar modules, logistics, installation, testing, and commissioning of both the solar plant and the associated energy storage system.
Bidders are required to submit a bid security of Rs20 crore. The deadline for bid submission is February 6, 2026, at 3:00 PM, with techno-commercial bids scheduled to be opened the same day at 3:30 PM.
As per the tender conditions, the BESS and battery systems must have a design life of 25 years from the date of commissioning, with batteries rated for a minimum of 10,000 operational cycles. The selected bidder must guarantee at least 92% dispatchable capacity at the point of interconnection (POI) over a 15-year period, beginning with 100% of rated dispatchable capacity in the first year.
The successful bidder will also be responsible for operation and maintenance services, covering three years for the solar PV plant and 15 years for the battery storage system.
Eligibility criteria require bidders to be developers or EPC contractors with prior experience in designing and commissioning grid-connected solar projects totaling at least 40 MWp, including one project of 10 MWp or higher capacity that has been operational for a minimum of six months. Alternatively, bidders may qualify by demonstrating execution of a single industrial project valued at Rs236 crore or more in sectors such as power, oil and gas, steel, petrochemicals, cement, fertilizers, or mining.
In addition, bidders must have executed at least one electrical substation of 33 kV or higher voltage level, and must report an average annual turnover of at least Rs236 crore during the previous three financial years as of the techno-commercial bid opening date.
