NTPC REL Issues Tender for 540 MW Wind Power Project in Andhra Pradesh
Feb 13, 2026
NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has floated a tender for the development of a 540 MW wind energy project at the ISTS-connected Anantapur-III substation in Andhra Pradesh under Tranche-II. The bidding process is now open, with March 30, 2026, set as the final date for submission. Bids will be opened on the same day.
Project Execution and Scope
The project will be implemented on a comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) basis. The selected bidder will be responsible not only for project development but also for land acquisition and 10 years of operation and maintenance (O&M).
The scope of work includes complete design, engineering, micro-siting, manufacturing, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the wind power facility. The contractor will also undertake geotechnical investigations, grid compliance studies, and ensure full system integration.
Technical Requirements
As per the tender conditions, wind turbine generators (WTGs) must be sourced from models listed under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) (Wind). Each turbine must have a minimum rated capacity of 3 MW or above.
The EPC package covers the installation of WTGs, unit substations, 33 kV internal evacuation lines, pooling substation infrastructure, and an extra high voltage (EHV) transmission line up to the ISTS substation. ISTS connectivity will be arranged by NTPC REL.
Infrastructure and System Components
In addition to turbine deployment, the project includes civil works such as foundations, internal roads, and buildings. Electrical infrastructure will comprise high-tension internal lines, EHV substations, system controls, and a metering station.
The successful bidder must also provide inland transportation and insurance on a free-on-road basis, and install advanced systems such as SCADA/SAS, a central monitoring and control system (CMCS), a power plant controller, static var generator, harmonic filters, and wind monitoring masts.
With this tender, NTPC REL aims to further strengthen its wind portfolio and expand grid-connected renewable capacity in Andhra Pradesh.
