NTPC Renewable Energy Issues Tender for 100 MWh Vanadium Redox Flow BESS at Khavda Solar Park
Nov 21, 2025
NTPC Renewable Energy, a subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy, has invited bids for the development of a 16.7 MW/100 MWh vanadium redox flow battery energy storage system (BESS) at the Khavda Solar Park. The project will be executed on a turnkey EPC basis. Interested bidders can submit their applications until December 30, 2025.
The tender covers the complete EPC scope, including design, engineering, supply, packaging, transportation, unloading, storage, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of the grid-connected BESS. The system is required to deliver a rated AC discharge capacity of 16.7 MW at the metering or injection point.
According to the tender document, the BESS will be integrated with the solar plant’s 33 kV pooling substation at Khavda.
The bid documents will be available starting December 5, 2025. The deadline for bid submission is 3:00 PM on December 30, 2025, with techno-commercial bids scheduled to open at 3:30 PM the same day. Bidders must submit proposals for the entire project capacity.
The BESS and all associated battery components must be designed for a 25-year operational life from the date of commissioning. Additionally, bidders are required to provide 10 years of comprehensive O&M services following successful commissioning of the project.
