NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) Floats Tender for 1.25 MW Rooftop Solar Installations Across BEML Facilities in Karnataka and Kerala
Jan 20, 2026
NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NVVN) has issued a tender for the development of 1.25 MW of rooftop solar projects at multiple Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) facilities located in Karnataka and Kerala.
Under the tender, selected bidders will be required to install rooftop solar systems with capacities of 530 kW at BEML’s Kolar facility and 270 kW at its Mysore unit in Karnataka. In addition, a 450 kW rooftop solar project will be implemented at BEML’s Palakkad facility in Kerala.
The deadline for bid submission is February 5, 2026, with bids scheduled to be opened on February 6, 2026. Interested bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of Rs 1 million. Successful bidders will also be required to furnish a performance bank guarantee equivalent to 10 percent of the contract value.
The scope of work includes end-to-end execution of the projects, covering design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the rooftop solar systems. Bidders will also be responsible for providing operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a period of 10 years.
NVVN has specified that all installations must be carried out in shadow-free areas. Selected bidders will be required to conduct preliminary roof inspections, assess the available rooftop area, determine the optimal system capacity, and arrange for water and electricity during project execution.
The contractor’s responsibilities also include supplying all project equipment such as solar modules, inverters, and structural steel, along with undertaking associated civil works. In addition, bidders must provide labour, materials, spare parts, logistics, storage, and all necessary accessories for project completion.
Contractors will be responsible for obtaining all statutory approvals, permits, and clearances from local, state, and central authorities, as well as from relevant public sector undertakings.
Only solar modules listed under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-I and solar cells from ALMM List-II will be permitted. Each rooftop installation must achieve a minimum capacity utilisation factor (CUF) of 18 percent.
The projects are required to be completed within 210 days from the date of award. Any delay in commissioning will attract liquidated damages at the rate of 0.5 percent of the contract value per week, subject to a maximum of 10 percent. Penalties will also apply for failure to meet CUF targets or O&M obligations.
Eligibility criteria specify that bidders must qualify as Class-I or Class-II local suppliers.
