ONGC-NTPC JV Acquires Ayana Renewable for Rs19,500 Crore

ONGC NTPC Green (ONGPL), a 50:50 joint venture between ONGC Green Energy and NTPC Green Energy, has acquired Ayana Renewable Power for Rs19,500 crore. This marks India's second-largest renewable energy acquisition after Adani Green’s Rs350 crore SB Energy deal in 2021.

Ayana, primarily owned by NIIF, has 4.1 GW of operational and under-construction assets, with major off-takers like SECI, NTPC, and Indian Railways. This acquisition aligns with ONGC’s and NTPC’s net-zero goals for 2038 and 2050, respectively, and strengthens India’s clean energy push.
