Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (POWERGRID), a Maharatna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Power, has announced a first interim dividend of Rs4.50 per share for FY 2025–26, representing a 45% payout on its paid-up share capital.

In the same meeting, the company’s Board of Directors approved plans to raise Rs6,000 crore through a loan facility from the State Bank of India (SBI). The funding aims to enhance the company’s liquidity position and financial flexibility for upcoming transmission and infrastructure projects.

The record date for the interim dividend has been fixed as November 10, 2025, with payments scheduled to be credited to eligible shareholders by December 1, 2025.

POWERGRID reported a steady financial performance during the first half of FY26, with both income and profit showing a marginal year-on-year increase. Total income rose to Rs22,605.15 crore, up from Rs22,233.71 crore in the same period last year. Profit after tax (including regulatory deferrals) stood at Rs7,208.03 crore, slightly higher than Rs7,123.31 crore in FY25, while earnings per share (EPS) improved to Rs7.75 from Rs7.66.
