Prostarm Secures South Eastern Railway Contract for 2 MW Rooftop Solar Project
Feb 10, 2026
Prostarm Info Systems has emerged as the successful bidder in South Eastern Railway’s auction for the installation of rooftop solar systems with a total capacity of 2.059 MW under the Santragachi division in Howrah, West Bengal.
The project was awarded at a contract value of Rs 134.3 million (approximately $1.48 million). The tender for the rooftop solar installations was issued in November 2025.
Under the scope of work, Prostarm will undertake the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of on-grid rooftop solar systems across multiple locations. Individual system capacities will range from 1 kW to 50 kW. Each installation will include solar modules, inverters, mounting structures, and other balance-of-system components.
The contract also includes a comprehensive operations and maintenance commitment for five years. Prostarm is required to complete the project within 12 months from the date of issuance of the letter of award.
The company has a track record of executing rooftop solar projects totaling 7.35 MW across more than 100 sites over the past three financial years. Prostarm entered the engineering, procurement, and construction segment in 2018, with a specific focus on rooftop solar installations.
In addition to its EPC activities, Prostarm has been expanding into energy storage manufacturing. Last year, the company announced plans to set up a 1.2 GWh battery energy storage system manufacturing facility at the Reliance Model Economic Township in Jhajjar, Haryana, with an investment of Rs 250 million (around $2.9 million).
