Rajasthan Updates Solar Tariffs to Enhance Net Metering and Billing Systems

Nov 06, 2025

Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. (JVVNL) has revised solar tariffs under the RERC Grid-Interactive Distributed Renewable Energy Generating Systems framework, introducing new rates designed to strengthen transparency and support fair compensation for solar producers across Rajasthan.

As per the latest order, the Net Metering tariff has been fixed at INR 3.26 per kWh, applicable to all consumer categories covered under the RERC (Net Metering) Regulations, 2015 and its subsequent amendments. Meanwhile, the Net Billing tariff has been revised to INR 3.65 per kWh, which will remain valid for the full tenure of the respective agreement.

These new tariffs supersede previous circulars JPR5-1073 (2021), JPR5-1108 (2022), JPR5-1153 (2023), and JPR5-1158 (2024), and will remain in effect until further notice.

The revision aligns with Rajasthan’s efforts to balance market dynamics while ensuring equitable incentives for renewable energy generation. It reflects the state’s proactive stance toward distributed solar adoption, encouraging residential, commercial, and industrial consumers to transition to clean power.

By refining its net metering and billing framework, Rajasthan reinforces its leadership in renewable energy and sets a benchmark for other Indian states in promoting sustainable and consumer-centric energy policies.
