Rays Power Infra Wins Rs 1,912 Crore Contract for 300 MW Renewable Energy Project in Karnataka

Jan 21, 2026

Rays Power Infra Ltd. has been awarded a 300 MW renewable energy project by a Maharatna public sector undertaking, significantly strengthening the company’s order book. The contract is valued at Rs 1,912 crore, taking Rays Power Infra’s total order backlog to over Rs 8,000 crore.

The project will be executed under the company’s co-development business model and will encompass land acquisition, interstate transmission system (ISTS) connectivity, and full engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) responsibilities. The renewable energy capacity will be developed at one of Rays Power Infra’s upcoming renewable energy parks in Karnataka, with commissioning targeted within the next three years.

Solar modules for the project will be produced using cells manufactured at Rays Power Infra’s upcoming cell manufacturing facility in Madhya Pradesh, which is being developed through its subsidiary, Rays Green Energy. The company stated that this approach supports domestic manufacturing and compliance with domestic content requirements.

Commenting on the order win, Ketan Mehta, Managing Director of Rays Power Infra, said the project reflects the effectiveness of collaboration between renewable energy developers and central public sector undertakings in delivering utility-scale clean energy projects. He added that the company remains committed to creating future-ready infrastructure to support India’s renewable energy transition.

Pawan Sharma, Whole-Time Director of Rays Power Infra, noted that the order highlights the company’s integrated capabilities across project development, engineering, and execution. He added that the use of DCR-compliant modules and end-to-end delivery is expected to set new benchmarks for project reliability, performance, and on-time completion.

Rays Power Infra has built a diversified renewable energy portfolio of approximately 11,665 MWp across solar, wind, and hybrid projects. As of July 31, 2025, the company had commissioned around 1,771 MWp of capacity, with operational and under-development projects spread across 13 states and one union territory.
