RENA Technologies to Equip Celloraa Energy’s 1.2 GW TOPCon Solar Cell Facility in Gujarat
Feb 28, 2026
RENA Technologies has entered into a formal agreement with Celloraa Energy to supply advanced wet chemical processing systems for a 1.2 GW TOPCon solar cell production line in Surat, Gujarat. The collaboration aims to strengthen India’s gigawatt-scale photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing capacity with a focus on sustainability and water efficiency.
The engagement began with an informal understanding at the TaiyangNews Solar Technology Conference India 2026 held in Delhi earlier this month, followed by the official contract signing on February 24, 2026. Under the agreement, RENA will deliver its latest wet processing platforms, including InEtchSide 4+, BatchPolyClean N600, BatchEtch N600, and BatchTex N600 systems.
These equipment solutions are engineered to optimise water usage, offering up to a 50 percent reduction in water consumption and wastewater generation. The technology is designed to lower operational expenditure while supporting sustainable manufacturing practices such as Zero Liquid Discharge—an increasingly vital requirement for large-scale PV production facilities.
To facilitate Celloraa’s planned production ramp-up, RENA will extend local service and technical support in India through its partner, International Marketing Corporation (IMC), alongside digital smart service solutions. This localised service model is expected to ensure faster response times, reliable maintenance, reduced downtime, and enhanced process stability, thereby lowering lifecycle costs.
Commenting on the development, Celloraa Energy’s Director highlighted that the partnership represents a major step toward establishing a state-of-the-art 1.2 GW TOPCon facility in Surat. He noted that RENA’s water-efficient and H?O?-free technologies align with the company’s goal of building a highly efficient and environmentally responsible manufacturing line capable of serving domestic and global markets.
RENA’s leadership described the project as a significant milestone and its strategic entry into Gujarat’s emerging technology hub. The company expressed confidence that its N600 batch platforms and InEtchSide system would support smooth installation and a successful scale-up toward commercial production by the end of FY 2026–27.
Looking ahead, both companies are preparing to expand their collaboration through a planned Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), expected to be signed following Intersolar 2026. The proposed partnership will focus on advancing next-generation manufacturing technologies, further enhancing water-saving processes, optimising production lines, and preparing for advanced cell concepts such as Interdigitated Back Contact (IBC) solar cells.
