ReNew Adds 2.4 GW in FY26, Operational Renewable Capacity Reaches 12.6 GW
Apr 16, 2026
ReNew Energy Global Plc has reported the commissioning of approximately 2.4 GW of renewable energy capacity during FY26, taking its total operational portfolio to around 12.6 GW after accounting for 600 MW of asset divestments. The milestone reflects the company’s strongest annual capacity addition to date.
The newly commissioned capacity includes about 1.75 GW of solar projects, 0.62 GW of wind installations, and 25 MW / 100 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS). In addition, around 450 MW of projects have been fully constructed and are expected to become operational in the near term. As of March 31, 2026, ReNew’s overall gross portfolio stands at roughly 20 GW.
The company’s commercial and industrial (C&I) segment continues to expand, with a committed portfolio of 2.5 GW, of which more than 2 GW is already operational. ReNew’s client base includes major global corporations, and the segment recently secured fresh equity investment from an international investor consortium.
On the manufacturing front, ReNew currently operates 6.5 GW of solar module capacity and 2.5 GW of solar cell capacity. The company is in the process of scaling up its cell manufacturing by an additional 4 GW, targeted for completion by December 2026. During FY26, its facilities produced over 4.1 GW of solar modules and nearly 1.86 GW of cells, supported by continued investor interest in the manufacturing business.
With a presence spanning more than 150 renewable energy sites and multiple manufacturing facilities across India, ReNew continues to strengthen its footprint in the clean energy sector. The company estimates that its operational capacity can generate enough electricity to power millions of households annually while significantly reducing carbon emissions.
