Resonia Secures National Project Excellence Award for Kishtwar Transmission Initiative in Chenab Valley

Feb 21, 2026

Resonia has been conferred the National Project Excellence Award at the IPMA Global Project Profession Forum 2026 for its landmark Kishtwar Transmission (KwTL) project. The recognition highlights the company’s achievement in delivering a large-scale transmission infrastructure project that plays a pivotal role in strengthening India’s power network.

Situated in the hydro-abundant Chenab Valley of Jammu and Kashmir, the Kishtwar Transmission project was developed with an investment of Rs 4.07 billion and became operational in December 2025. Designed to transmit up to 3,014 MW of hydropower to the National Grid, the project significantly reinforces the Northern Grid while facilitating the integration of renewable energy into the country’s power system.

The infrastructure includes a 400/132 kV GIS substation equipped with 400 MVA transformer capacity and 125 MVA reactor capacity, along with dedicated 400 kV transmission lines. Together, these components function as a key pooling and evacuation centre, improving grid resilience and easing regional transmission bottlenecks.

Arun Sharma, CEO of Resonia, expressed pride in the accomplishment, noting that the award reflects the company’s ability to execute complex projects in challenging terrains while contributing to enhanced grid reliability and India’s broader clean energy ambitions.

The National Project Excellence Award acknowledges outstanding project management practices, innovation, and effective stakeholder collaboration. The forum serves as an international platform celebrating impactful infrastructure projects and leadership across sectors.
