RGREENINVEST and Renalfa Partner to Develop €800 Million Hybrid Renewable Energy Projects in Europe
Mar 11, 2026
RGREEN INVEST and Renalfa Solarpro Group have agreed to establish a new joint venture named Renalfa Power Clusters (RPC) to develop a large portfolio of hybrid renewable energy projects in Europe. The partners will jointly invest €200 million in equity to support the development of projects with a total investment value of approximately €800 million across Romania and Poland.
The investment will be made through the INFRAGREEN equity funds managed by RGREEN INVEST. The new venture aims to build large-scale hybrid renewable energy assets, integrating advanced technologies for power generation, energy storage, and grid dispatch.
The partnership builds on the success of the companies’ earlier collaboration under the Renalfa IPP, which focuses on integrating renewable energy with long-duration battery energy storage systems (BESS) to deliver reliable green power to the market.
According to Nicolas Rochon, the partnership has demonstrated over the past five years that Eastern Europe offers strong opportunities for innovative renewable energy business models and financing structures. He noted that Renalfa IPP has evolved into one of Europe’s leading platforms deploying long-duration battery storage to support large-scale renewable integration and green baseload power solutions.
Ivo Prokopiev highlighted that the energy transition is currently undergoing a major electrification shift driven largely by market forces rather than policy mandates. He emphasized that renewable investors must focus on managing volatility and technological risks through innovative business models and advanced technologies.
Prokopiev also pointed out that the growing adoption of battery energy storage and hybrid renewable systems is enabling new ways to optimise electricity supply for sectors such as low-carbon industries and data centers. As the market matures, he expects banks and capital markets to increasingly finance competitive merchant renewable energy projects.
Through the Renalfa Power Clusters initiative, the partners aim to accelerate the development of next-generation renewable infrastructure combining solar, storage, and flexible dispatch capabilities, supporting Europe’s broader transition toward a low-carbon energy system.
