ROQIT and Indian Railways Join Forces to Advance Sustainable Parcel Delivery
Nov 21, 2025
ROQIT has entered into a strategic partnership with Indian Railways to roll out an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enabled pilot project with South Central Railway. The initiative aims to modernise India’s door-to-door parcel movement and lay the groundwork for a digitally driven, sustainable nationwide logistics ecosystem.
Indian Railways has awarded ROQIT the contract to design and implement an AI-powered parcel logistics platform. The pilot will begin with South Central Railway in early 2026 and will serve as the initial step toward a countrywide deployment of a fully digital, customer-focused, and environmentally aligned delivery network for lightweight to medium-weight parcels.
Through this collaboration, both organisations are working to reshape India’s logistics landscape by combining the cost-effective and low-emission advantages of rail transport with advanced digital intelligence. The vision is to build a smart, inclusive, and future-ready parcel delivery system.
Pavan Chavali, CEO of ROQIT, described the partnership as a key milestone in creating India’s next-generation end-to-end logistics ecosystem. “Our collaboration with Indian Railways represents a major step toward building an integrated, zero-emission parcel movement system. In the pilot phase, we are utilising ETO Motors—our electric fleet subsidiary—to support efficient parcel pick-up and delivery. With ROQIT, we aim to merge real-time transparency, AI-driven insights, and green mobility into a point-to-point logistics network aligned with India’s Net-Zero aspirations,” he stated.
As part of the project, ROQIT is developing a cloud-native mobile application offering complete door-to-door parcel services. The app will enable first- and last-mile connectivity through partner fleet operators and replace manual processes with predictive scheduling, instant booking, digital payments, and live parcel tracking. A marketplace model will also be integrated, allowing customers to select logistics partners based on price, speed, and sustainability metrics.
ROQIT’s role in enabling complete first- and last-mile movement is expected to significantly enhance how parcel delivery is managed across the Railways network.
The pilot phase is scheduled to begin between January and February 2026 across select locations in the Indian Railways system. After the initial rollout, the Railways plans a phased national expansion to extend the platform’s reach and benefits.
The new digital platform promises to redefine reliability and efficiency in lightweight and medium-weight parcel delivery through real-time tracking, paperless workflows, and true door-to-door connectivity—features largely missing from traditional systems. Its open marketplace will further empower logistics partners with flexibility and transparency, promoting a more inclusive and sustainable model for parcel transportation.
