SAEL Industries Commits Rs 22,000 Crore for Renewable and Infrastructure Projects in Andhra Pradesh

Nov 07, 2025

SAEL Industries has announced plans to invest Rs22,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh, focusing on renewable energy, biomass, data centre, and port development projects. The initiative is projected to generate over 70,000 jobs across the state, according to a government statement.

The investment proposal is expected to be formalised during the upcoming CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam on November 14–15, as confirmed by the state’s TDP leadership.

Under this plan, SAEL will develop projects across multiple sectors — including utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), biomass-based power generation, data infrastructure, and port-linked facilities designed to accelerate industrial and logistics growth.

The company intends to set up seven solar and BESS projects with a total capacity of 1,750 MW across the Kadapa and Kurnool districts. These installations aim to ensure round-the-clock renewable power supply for industrial and digital operations. SAEL secured the projects through competitive bids conducted by NHPC and SECI.

In addition, the firm will launch a 200 MW biomass initiative (eight plants of 25 MW each) to support rural livelihoods and promote the utilization of agricultural residues. Plans also include an Rs3,000 crore hyperscale-ready data centre and an Rs4,000 crore port project to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s digital and maritime infrastructure.

To date, SAEL has already invested Rs3,200 crore in the state and commissioned 600 MW of renewable capacity within the past nine months, reinforcing its commitment to India’s clean energy expansion.
