Seminar Highlights: Accelerating Renewable Energy Transition for C&I Consumers in Southern India

The inaugural session of the seminar “Renewable Energy Transition for C&I Consumers in Southern Region” was jointly organized by AMPIN Energy Transition, FICCI, Deloitte, and Sumitomo Corporation. The event brought together senior leaders from government and industry to discuss the future of clean energy adoption by commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers.

Key dignitaries included Shri Ghanshyam Prasad (Chairperson, CEA), Shri Gaurav Gupta (Chief Secretary, Energy Department, Karnataka), Shri Sudeep Jain (ACS, MNRE), Shri Aneesh Sekhar (MD, TNGECL), Shri Pinaki Bhattacharyya (Co-Chair, FICCI RE CEOs Committee & MD, AMPIN Energy Transition), along with senior representatives from Deloitte and FICCI.

The seminar focused on how industries in Southern India can accelerate their transition towards renewable energy. Panelists emphasized the need for stronger policy frameworks, innovative financing models, and advanced technologies like hybrid energy systems and storage to ensure round-the-clock green power supply. They also highlighted the importance of collaboration between government, private players, and international partners in building a sustainable energy ecosystem.

The session concluded with a shared commitment to make the southern region a leader in India’s renewable energy journey by enabling industries to meet sustainability targets while reducing energy costs.
