SJVN Limited Concludes 600 MW ISTS Wind Auction; KPI Green, Urdhvaga, Adyant and Lambent Secure Capacities

Mar 02, 2026

SJVN Limited has finalized the allocation of 600 MW of interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected wind power capacity, awarding projects to KPI Green Energy, Urdhvaga Renewables India Project (a unit of UPC Renewables), Adyant Enersol, and Lambent Energy Eight. The tender for the projects was issued in September last year.

Under the bidding outcome, KPI Green emerged as the largest winner with 300 MW at a tariff of Rs 3.64 per kWh. Urdhvaga Renewables secured 120 MW at the same tariff, while Adyant Enersol won 110 MW, also quoting Rs 3.64 per kWh. Lambent Energy Eight was allotted 70 MW under the bucket-filling mechanism at Rs 3.65 per kWh.

Power generated from these ISTS-connected wind projects will be supplied to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited and other authorized buying entities. The scope of work covers project development, establishment of the associated transmission infrastructure up to the delivery point, and deployment of a GPS-enabled automatic weather station.

Developers must ensure grid connectivity at a minimum voltage of 220 kV and utilize only commercially proven wind turbine technologies listed under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM). A minimum capacity utilization factor of 22% has been mandated to maintain performance standards.

Selected bidders can avail themselves of applicable fiscal incentives such as accelerated depreciation, concessional duties, and tax benefits, subject to prevailing regulations. Eligible projects may include those under construction or operating on a short-term merchant basis, provided they are not already backed by other state or central government schemes.
