Solarium Green Energy Commissions 1 GW Solar Module Plant in Ahmedabad
Mar 19, 2026
Solarium Green Energy has operationalised a 1 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, marking a key step in its backward integration strategy. Developed with an investment of around Rs 90 crore, the plant is designed to manufacture high-efficiency G12 solar modules with capacities of up to 725 Wp.
The newly commissioned facility features fully automated, next-generation manufacturing systems, enabling the production of advanced crystalline silicon solar PV modules. It incorporates technologies such as TOPCon cells, half-cut cells, and bifacial modules, supported by precision equipment including tabber-stringers, laminators, and sun simulators.
According to the company, the plant was completed in under nine months, reflecting strong execution capabilities. The move into module manufacturing is expected to enhance Solarium’s supply chain efficiency, reduce reliance on third-party suppliers, and improve project delivery timelines.
Solar modules typically account for 50–60% of the total cost in EPC projects. By bringing module production in-house, the company aims to improve margins through captive consumption while also strengthening its overall EPC operations.
At an estimated utilisation level of around 85%, the facility has the potential to generate annual revenues exceeding Rs 1,000 crore, depending on market conditions and module pricing. In addition to meeting internal demand, the plant will cater to external customers, including other EPC companies and the broader B2B segment.
Company leadership described the commissioning as a significant milestone, reinforcing its long-term growth plans and positioning in the solar manufacturing ecosystem.
