Apr 20, 2026

The company has secured a major solar project in Rajasthan, emerging as the lowest bidder, while also crossing Rs 10,000 crore in EPC order inflows for FY26 with an additional project win.

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited has been declared the lowest (L1) bidder for a turnkey EPC contract awarded by Coal India Limited. The project involves the development of an 875 MW (AC) grid-connected solar PV plant in Bikaner, Rajasthan, with a total contract value of approximately Rs 3,490 crore, including operations and maintenance (O&M) and applicable taxes.

In addition to this large-scale order, the company has also secured a 50 MW (AC) solar project in Maharashtra from a domestic independent power producer (IPP).

With these latest wins, SWREL’s total EPC order inflows for FY26 have surpassed Rs 10,062 crore, marking a significant milestone beyond its initial annual targets.

Commenting on the achievement, Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO of SWREL, highlighted that this marks the company’s first project with Coal India and reflects its growing role in supporting the country’s renewable energy expansion. He also noted that the strong order book underscores continued momentum in India’s clean energy sector and the company’s commitment to sustaining its growth trajectory.
