Sunsure Energy Signs Solar PPAs with Daeseung Autoparts India and Ilgahng Automotive
Mar 07, 2026
Sunsure Energy has entered into long-term solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with Daeseung Autoparts India and Ilgahng Automotive to supply renewable electricity from its 75 MWp solar plant located in Ilayangudi, Tamil Nadu. The agreements aim to provide clean and reliable power to the companies’ manufacturing facilities in Kanchipuram.
Under the agreement with Daeseung Autoparts India, the company will receive around 8 million units of solar power annually from the Ilayangudi solar facility. This supply will help the manufacturer meet nearly 60 percent of its total electricity demand through renewable energy, reducing its carbon emissions by approximately 5,800 metric tonnes of CO? each year.
Similarly, Sunsure Energy will supply about 4.7 million units of renewable electricity annually to Ilgahng Automotive’s Kanchipuram plant from the same solar project. The arrangement is expected to help the company cut its carbon emissions by roughly 3,400 metric tonnes of CO? per year.
Commenting on the partnership, Shin Sangki, Managing Director of Daeseung Autoparts India, stated that the collaboration supports the group’s global sustainability strategy. He noted that sourcing a large share of electricity from solar energy will lower the company’s environmental impact while also improving resilience against fluctuations in future energy costs.
Shashank Sharma, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Sunsure Energy, said the partnership strengthens the company’s portfolio of global manufacturing clients. He added that Sunsure aims to deliver customised renewable energy solutions and support industries in transitioning to clean power.
In Tamil Nadu, Sunsure Energy is expanding its renewable footprint with a development pipeline of more than 1,100 MW of round-the-clock renewable capacity across solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The initiative is part of its campaign #TamilNattinSakthi – The Power of Tamil Nadu, focused on providing reliable green energy to support industrial growth in the state.
Currently, the company has an operational capacity of about 700 MW, with 7.10 GW of projects under different stages of development across Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Karnataka. Sunsure Energy has set a long-term goal of reaching 10 GW of capacity by 2030.
