Sunsure Raises Rs 606 Crore Debt to Drive 242 MWp Solar Expansion Across Key States
Mar 17, 2026
Sunsure Energy has secured debt financing worth Rs 606.22 crore from Aseem Infrastructure Finance and RBL Bank to support the development of over 242 MWp of solar projects in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. The projects are aimed at supplying clean energy to commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers through long-term agreements.
The funding structure includes Rs 461.76 crore from Aseem Infrastructure Finance for upcoming solar installations across both states, along with Rs 144.46 crore in refinancing from RBL Bank for Sunsure’s existing project in Augasi, Uttar Pradesh. This combined financial support is expected to accelerate the company’s renewable energy portfolio.
Once operational, the projects are projected to generate nearly 300 million units of electricity annually. This output is estimated to reduce close to 230,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year, contributing significantly to India’s decarbonisation efforts.
Speaking on the development, Shashank Sharma, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Sunsure Energy, highlighted the company’s focus on delivering reliable renewable energy solutions tailored to regional demand and regulatory frameworks. He noted that these investments will play a vital role in advancing the company’s clean energy initiatives in both Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
He further emphasized that as Sunsure expands across major industrial states such as Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, and Karnataka, access to long-term institutional funding remains essential for building high-quality renewable infrastructure.
Backed by Partners Group AG, which has committed USD 400 million in equity, Sunsure Energy currently operates around 700 MW of capacity and has a pipeline of 7.10 GW under development across multiple states. The company is targeting a total capacity of 10 GW by 2030 as part of its long-term growth and clean energy vision.
