TACC Secures Rs 1,230 Crore Funding from SBI for Lithium-ion Battery Anode Plant

Oct 25, 2025

TACC Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of HEG Ltd. and part of the LNJ Bhilwara Group, has secured a Rs 1,230 crore credit facility from the State Bank of India (SBI) to establish its lithium-ion battery-grade graphite anode manufacturing plant in Dewas, Madhya Pradesh.

The upcoming greenfield facility, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 MTPA, will be among the first of its kind in India. It marks a significant milestone in building a self-reliant domestic ecosystem for advanced energy materials, supporting India’s vision of technological independence in clean energy manufacturing.

According to the company, the project will play a key role in strengthening India’s position in the global electric mobility and energy storage sectors by locally producing high-quality graphite anode materials — a crucial component in lithium-ion batteries.

“The support from the State Bank of India validates our long-term vision to position India as a global hub for advanced energy materials,” said Ankur Khaitan, Managing Director and CEO of TACC Ltd. “This project is not just an industrial milestone but a step toward a future where clean energy technologies are designed and produced within India.”

The Dewas facility will integrate state-of-the-art technology and sustainable production practices to deliver high-performance materials that meet international quality and environmental standards. Once operational, the plant is expected to significantly strengthen India’s clean energy value chain and accelerate the nation’s transition toward a greener, more self-reliant future.
