Tata Power Signs 80 MW Green Energy PPA to Strengthen Mumbai Grid
Oct 26, 2025
Tata Power has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply 80 MW of renewable energy, bolstering Mumbai’s electricity distribution.
The agreement covers a mix of solar and wind power, complemented by storage systems to ensure consistent supply. By sourcing clean energy, Tata Power aims to reduce carbon emissions and support the city’s growing electricity demand sustainably.
This initiative is expected to avoid approximately 250,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually, while providing reliable power for residential, commercial, and industrial users in Mumbai. The move reflects the growing adoption of renewable energy in urban grids and highlights the role of distribution companies in India’s energy transition.
With increasing investments in green energy, Tata Power continues to expand its renewable footprint and contribute to India’s sustainability and climate action targets.
