The Telangana government has signed multiple memoranda of understanding (MoUs) worth more than Rs 1.50 lakh crore to develop large-scale renewable energy projects, marking a major boost to the state’s clean energy ambitions. The agreements were formalised during the Telangana Rising Global Summit.
Among the key commitments, Axis Energy and Evren have jointly pledged Rs 31,500 crore to develop 2,750 MW of renewable energy capacity across the state. Spread over approximately 19,750 acres, the projects will include wind, solar, hybrid, and agri-PV solutions. According to the companies, the developments are expected to generate over 4,750 direct employment opportunities while strengthening Telangana’s renewable energy ecosystem.
Several other major players have also announced significant investments in the state’s green energy sector. These include Rs 29,800 crore from Greenko, Rs 16,000 crore from Ecoren, Rs 12,500 crore from AMR India, Rs 5,600 crore each from Astha Green Energy and Cerulean Energy, and Rs 2,500 crore from United Telecom.
In addition to renewable power projects, Axis Ventures has committed Rs 75,000 crore for the development of the Global Deep Tech Innovation City at Bharat Future City. The proposed development will function as a Net Zero urban cluster, housing global research and development centres, advanced technology laboratories, and high-value service corridors.
According to Axis Energy, these investments are expected to significantly strengthen green infrastructure across Telangana while fostering innovation-driven growth, reinforcing the group’s long-term commitment to sustainable and low-carbon development in the state.
