THINK Gas Enters Long-Term Gas Supply Agreement with Shell Energy India

Nov 19, 2025

THINK Gas has finalized a long-term gas sales and purchase agreement with Shell Energy India, further strengthening its supply network and supporting its mission to deliver cleaner, dependable energy across its city gas distribution (CGD) operations.

Under the agreement, Shell Energy India will supply natural gas to THINK Gas through its portfolio, with deliveries routed via the Hazira LNG terminal. This partnership marks a significant step in India’s natural gas market and reinforces THINK Gas’ position as one of the country’s leading CGD companies.

Abhilesh Gupta, Managing Director and CEO of THINK Gas, highlighted the importance of the collaboration, stating, “We are pleased to deepen our long-standing partnership with Shell, built on trust and shared objectives. This long-term agreement strengthens our strategy to diversify our gas sourcing in a complex global environment, while providing reliable, flexible, affordable, and sustainable solutions to our downstream consumers. Supplies from Shell Energy India will support the growing energy demand across households, transport, and industries that rely on cleaner fuels. While this agreement meets part of our future requirements, we are also exploring additional partnerships to meet expanding customer needs.”

India’s natural gas market continues to grow rapidly, supported by rising foreign investment and strong confidence in the country’s clean energy transition. This progress aligns with the government’s vision—led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi—to increase natural gas’s share to 15% in the national energy mix.

THINK Gas remains committed to working with partners like Shell Energy India who share a unified goal: advancing India’s energy transition by expanding natural gas adoption, building robust infrastructure, and contributing to a more sustainable and secure energy future.
