Transformers & Rectifiers India Posts Higher Q1 FY27 Revenue as Record Order Book Strengthens Growth Outlook
Jul 22, 2026
Transformers & Rectifiers India Limited (TARIL) has reported steady financial performance for the first quarter of FY2026-27, supported by robust order inflows from India's expanding power sector. While ongoing capacity expansion temporarily moderated production, the company recorded higher revenue, healthy profitability and its highest-ever unexecuted order book, providing strong visibility for future growth.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, TARIL reported revenue from operations of INR 572.34 crore, an increase from INR 529 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The company posted EBITDA of INR 109.65 crore, translating into an EBITDA margin of 19.16 percent, while profit after tax (PAT) stood at INR 64.34 crore, reflecting continued operational resilience despite temporary production constraints.
According to the company, revenue growth during the quarter was partially impacted by lower capacity utilisation at its Changodar manufacturing facility in Gujarat, where expansion work is currently underway. The ongoing project, involving an investment of approximately INR 150 crore, is expected to be completed by August 2026, after which the plant is anticipated to operate at significantly higher production levels to meet increasing domestic and export demand.
TARIL reported exceptionally strong business momentum during the quarter, with new order inflows rising 218 percent year-on-year to INR 2,114 crore. As of June 30, 2026, the company's unexecuted order book reached a record INR 6,630 crore, representing a 26 percent increase over the previous year. In addition, TARIL disclosed an enquiry pipeline of nearly INR 23,000 crore, driven by investments in transmission infrastructure, renewable energy integration, industrial electrification and international business opportunities.
The company is simultaneously pursuing several long-term expansion initiatives to strengthen its manufacturing ecosystem. These include backward integration projects valued at INR 900β1,000 crore and the development of three greenfield manufacturing facilities at Chiyada, aimed at increasing production capacity, improving supply chain efficiency and enhancing cost competitiveness as demand for advanced power equipment continues to grow.
Commenting on the quarterly performance, Satyen J. Mamtora, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TARIL, said the company has begun FY27 on a stable footing, supported by consistent project execution and sustained demand across the power sector. He noted that record order inflows and the company's largest-ever order book provide strong revenue visibility for the coming quarters. He also stated that although the Changodar expansion has temporarily affected production levels, the upgraded facility will substantially enhance manufacturing capabilities and position the company to capitalise on future market opportunities.
Demand for power transformers in India has accelerated in recent years as the country undertakes one of the world's largest electricity infrastructure expansion programmes. Rapid growth in renewable energy capacity, large-scale transmission corridor development, urbanisation, industrial expansion and increasing electricity consumption are driving significant investments in substations, high-voltage transmission networks and grid modernisation. Transformers remain critical equipment for efficiently transmitting electricity over long distances while maintaining grid stability.
The sector is also benefiting from the government's ambitious energy transition targets, including the expansion of renewable energy, development of Green Energy Corridors, strengthening of interstate transmission networks and the integration of battery energy storage systems. These initiatives are expected to generate sustained demand for power transformers, reactors and other grid equipment over the coming decade.
With a record order pipeline, expanding manufacturing footprint and continued investments in capacity enhancement, Transformers & Rectifiers India appears well positioned to benefit from India's growing transmission and distribution infrastructure requirements. As utilities, renewable energy developers and industrial consumers continue to invest in grid expansion and modernisation, the company is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting the country's evolving power infrastructure.
