Vedanta Power Seeks EPC Partners for 25–40 MW Solar Installations at Chhattisgarh Thermal Plant

Feb 20, 2026

Vedanta Power has issued an expression of interest (EoI) inviting domestic and international engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors, along with renewable energy solution providers, to develop 25–40 MW of solar capacity at its 1,200 MW thermal power facility in Sakti district, Chhattisgarh. The deadline for bid submissions is February 25, 2026.

The proposed projects will be implemented under a non-equity power purchase agreement structure. Developers may adopt either a renewable energy service company (RESCO) model or a build-own-operate (BOO) framework. The installations can include ground-mounted, floating, and rooftop solar systems, depending on site feasibility and design considerations.

Through this initiative, Vedanta aims to expand renewable integration within its conventional generation portfolio, lower the carbon intensity of its operations, and advance its sustainability commitments.

As outlined in the FY2025 Sustainability Report of the Vedanta Group, the conglomerate has a total thermal power generation capacity of 12,000 MW. Vedanta Power operates 1,980 MW in Mansa, Punjab; facilities in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh; and Jharsuguda, Odisha, with a combined operational capacity of 4,780 MW across these locations.
