Vikram Solar Surpasses 10 GW in Global Installations, Expands Clean Energy Reach

Apr 13, 2026

Vikram Solar has achieved a major milestone by exceeding 10 GW in cumulative global solar module deployments, underscoring its growing contribution to the global clean energy transition and its expanding international footprint.

This achievement translates to more than 25 million solar modules installed worldwide—enough to power over 5 million homes in India. Notably, the company has doubled its installed capacity from 5 GW to 10 GW within just two years, reflecting strong market demand and sustained growth built over nearly two decades.

India’s solar sector has seen rapid expansion, recently crossing the 150 GW capacity mark. Vikram Solar has been a key contributor to this growth, leveraging its manufacturing expertise and large-scale project execution capabilities to deliver efficient and high-performance solar solutions.

While India remains its primary market, the company has steadily increased its global presence, exporting around 1.5 GW of modules across 39 countries. This positions Vikram Solar among a select group of manufacturers with a strong international footprint and growing influence in global energy markets.

The company’s progress is backed by a strong focus on innovation and quality. From contributing to landmark projects like fully solar-powered infrastructure to early adoption of floating solar technologies, Vikram Solar has consistently embraced advanced solutions. Its recognition in global benchmarks and reliability assessments further highlights its commitment to performance and sustainability.

Currently, Vikram Solar operates a manufacturing capacity of 9.5 GW across facilities in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu, including a technologically advanced plant in Vallam. As part of its expansion and backward integration strategy, the company plans to scale up further with additional module and cell manufacturing capacity. It is also entering the energy storage segment through new initiatives, including battery energy storage systems and lithium-based solutions for residential and mobility applications, strengthening its position in the evolving clean energy ecosystem.
