Apr 06, 2026

Vikran Engineering has secured contracts worth a total of INR 530.80 crore from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company (MSEDCL) for strengthening power distribution infrastructure in the Nashik and Kolhapur regions. The projects have been awarded under the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-supported Power Distribution Enhancement Program.

The contracts were granted through a competitive national bidding process, with the Nashik package valued at INR 235.63 crore and the Kolhapur package at INR 295.17 crore, excluding GST. Both projects will be executed on a turnkey basis, covering the complete lifecycle from initial survey and design to installation, testing, and final commissioning.

The scope of work includes the development of new substations at various voltage levels, expansion and upgrading of existing infrastructure, installation of transmission lines, and deployment of distribution transformers. Additional components involve underground cabling, renovation works, and implementation of GIS-based mapping and asset tagging systems to improve network efficiency and monitoring.

Each project is scheduled for completion within 21 months from the date of award. The contracts are expected to enhance the reliability and capacity of the power distribution network in the respective regions.

With these new orders, Vikran Engineering strengthens its presence in the power infrastructure sector while contributing to the modernization of Maharashtra’s electricity distribution system. The development also highlights continued investment in improving grid performance and supporting growing energy demand across the state.
