Websol Energy Bags INR 172 Crore Contracts for 85.5 MW Solar Module Supply

Feb 27, 2026

Kolkata-based solar cell and module manufacturer Websol Energy System has won three new purchase orders aggregating 85.5 MW for the supply of solar modules. The contracts have been awarded by Bekem Infra Projects, Sri Avantika Contractors, and Kosol Energie.

The combined value of these orders stands at Rs 172 crore. According to the company, production is already underway, and deliveries are slated for completion by May 2026.

Commenting on the development, Managing Director Sohan Lal Agarwal stated that the fresh contracts demonstrate strong customer confidence in the company’s manufacturing capabilities and underline its growing presence in India’s solar market. He added that Websol remains focused on timely project execution while contributing to the country’s renewable energy expansion.

Websol also noted that the recently introduced U.S. tariffs on solar imports will not affect its business operations, as it does not currently export products to the United States.

The company operates its manufacturing facility at the Falta Special Economic Zone in West Bengal, with an existing annual production capacity of 1,200 MW for solar cells and 550 MW for modules. In addition, Websol has recently received approval from the Andhra Pradesh government to establish a 4 GW greenfield solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Naidupeta, located in the Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh.
