YEIDA Allocates 200 Acres to SAEL for a Rs 8,200 Crore Integrated Solar Manufacturing Complex
Nov 17, 2025
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has awarded approximately 200 acres of industrial land in Sector 8, Greater Noida, to SAEL Solar P6—a subsidiary of SAEL Industries—for the development of a large-scale integrated solar manufacturing plant. The project involves an investment commitment of nearly Rs 8,200 crore.
The new facility will include a 5 GW TOPCon solar cell manufacturing unit along with a 5 GW solar module production line. Once operational, this expansion will raise SAEL’s overall solar module manufacturing capacity to nearly 8.5 GW, the company said.
YEIDA CEO Rakesh Kumar Singh and OSD Shailendra Kumar Bhatia formally presented the allotment letter to SAEL officials. The plant will be strategically located along the Yamuna Expressway, close to Jewar Airport—an emerging industrial hub earmarked as a key growth zone under Uttar Pradesh’s manufacturing-focused development roadmap.
This allocation follows a Letter of Comfort issued by the state government in July 2025, which was handed over by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to SAEL Co-Founder and Director Sukhbir Singh Awla.
The new manufacturing complex will produce high-efficiency TOPCon solar cells, which will then be assembled into modules within the facility’s in-house production line.
SAEL Industries currently operates across solar module manufacturing, EPC services, and project operations and maintenance. Its clean energy portfolio includes 8,299.5 MWp of solar IPP capacity, 3,625 MW of TOPCon module manufacturing capacity, and 164.90 MW of agri-waste-to-energy projects.
YEIDA continues to attract major investments in renewable energy and advanced manufacturing due to strong regional connectivity, proximity to logistics infrastructure, and supportive policy measures.
Recently, CESC Green Power—a company under the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group—also secured land from YEIDA to set up a 3 GW solar cell and module plant along with a 60 MW captive renewable energy facility. The company plans to invest around Rs 3,000 crore in the project.
Integrated Batteries India (IB Solar) has likewise announced an investment of Rs 3,000 crore to establish a 4 GW solar cell manufacturing plant in Greater Noida. YEIDA has approved the allotment of 25 acres in Sector 8 for this initiative.
