ACEN India Raises Rs 7.52 Billion for 100 MW Karnataka Wind Project, Commissioning Expected by 2027

Mar 23, 2026

ACEN India has secured financing worth Rs 7.52 billion for its 100 MW wind power project in Karnataka, marking a significant step in expanding its renewable energy portfolio in the country.

The funding has been arranged from Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation for the project located in Bijapur. The company has also signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with SJVN Limited for the offtake of electricity generated from the project.

The wind project is expected to be commissioned by 2027 and is projected to generate approximately 330 million units of clean energy annually, contributing to India’s renewable energy capacity and sustainability goals.

Previously, UPC Renewables, a subsidiary of ACEN India, had secured 100 MW capacity in an SJVN auction linked to a larger 600 MW interstate transmission-connected wind project, further strengthening its presence in the sector.

Since entering the Indian market in 2019, ACEN has built strategic partnerships, including collaborations with UPC Renewables and Yanara. Together, these platforms account for a renewable energy portfolio exceeding 2.1 GW, with around 630 MW already operational and several projects under development across multiple states.

The latest funding underscores ACEN India’s continued focus on scaling clean energy investments and supporting India’s transition toward a greener power mix.
