ACME Solar Adds 12 MW Wind Capacity in Gujarat, FY26 Wind Commissions Reach 378 MW

Jan 22, 2026

Gurgaon-based independent power producer ACME Solar Holdings has commissioned an additional 12 MW of wind power capacity at its project in Surendranagar district, Gujarat, further scaling up its renewable energy footprint in the state.

With the latest addition, the project’s operational capacity has increased to 68 MW, out of a planned 100 MW that is being developed in phases. The project is being implemented through ACME Solar’s subsidiary, ACME Eco Clean Energy.

The wind project has been financed by Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and constructed using ACME Solar’s in-house engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) capabilities. The site is equipped with 4 MW wind turbine generators supplied by SANY.

Electricity generated from the project will be supplied under a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).

FY26 Wind Additions and Portfolio Expansion
During the second quarter of FY 2025–26, ACME Solar partially commissioned a 28 MW wind project in Gujarat, which includes the newly commissioned 12 MW. With this, the company’s cumulative wind capacity commissioned in FY26 has reached 378 MW, while its total operational renewable capacity has increased to 2,918 MW.

ACME Solar’s broader technology portfolio comprises 3,140 MW of solar power, 150 MW of wind capacity, and 3,480 MW of hybrid and firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) projects, supported by approximately 15 GWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS).

As of Q2 FY26, the company’s total renewable energy portfolio stands at 7,390 MW, including operational, under-construction, and contracted capacities across solar, wind, hybrid, FDRE, and storage segments. Of this, 4,472 MW is under construction, while PPA-signed capacity totals 5,180 MW, supported by around 13.5 GWh of BESS installations.

Financing and Long-Term Targets
In December 2025, ACME Solar Holdings secured a Rs 47.2 billion debt facility from Indian financial institutions to fund ongoing renewable energy projects and optimise its capital structure by lowering financing costs.

Earlier, in October 2025, the company signed a 25-year PPA with Tata Power Company to supply FDRE from its 50 MW solar-plus-storage project at a tariff of Rs 4.43 per kWh.

ACME Solar has set a long-term target of achieving 10 GW of generation capacity and 15 GWh of battery storage capacity by 2030, reinforcing its focus on large-scale renewable and storage-led growth.
