Bijliride Rolls Out Consumer-Focused Electric Scooter Rentals in Delhi
Jan 30, 2026
Electric mobility startup Bijliride has expanded into the consumer rental segment with the launch of its B2C electric two-wheeler services in Delhi, advancing its vision of shared, electric-first urban transportation.
The service is being introduced across high-traffic zones in South, Central, West and East Delhi, selected for strong commuter movement, public transport access and demand for last-mile mobility. The first operational hub has been set up at Lado Sarai in South Delhi, with additional pickup and drop locations scheduled to go live in the coming months.
Designed for Daily Urban Commuting
Commenting on the launch, Shivam Sisodiya, Co-Founder and CEO of Bijliride, said Delhi presents both significant challenges and opportunities for electric mobility due to rising congestion, pollution levels and the growing cost of vehicle ownership. He added that the new offering aims to provide convenient, affordable access to electric two-wheelers without ownership-related responsibilities, making clean commuting easier for everyday users.
Delhi was chosen as Bijliride’s first B2C market due to its high two-wheeler usage, maturing EV ecosystem, and pressing need for sustainable mobility solutions. The city’s expanding population of students, gig workers and young professionals has also driven demand for flexible, short-term vehicle access.
Initial Fleet Deployment and App-Based Access
In the first phase, Bijliride plans to deploy 150 to 200 newly procured electric two-wheelers, dedicated exclusively to its Delhi operations. The fleet configuration draws on operational experience from the company’s Hyderabad market, prioritising riding comfort, battery reliability, sufficient range and minimal downtime to support daily commuting needs.
The entire rental process, including bookings and payments, will be handled through the Bijliride mobile application, currently available on the Google Play Store, ensuring a fully digital customer experience.
Flexible Pricing and Support Services
Users will be able to choose from weekly and monthly rental plans, supported by battery-swapping assistance, along with round-the-clock roadside and breakdown support. Pricing for battery-swapped electric two-wheelers is expected to start at around Rs220 per day, while longer-term plans are structured to remain considerably more economical than owning a personal two-wheeler.
Through this launch, Bijliride aims to position electric rentals as a practical, cost-effective default option for short-distance travel in Indian cities.
