Ciel & Terre Launches FUSIO, a New Honeycomb-Structure Floating Solar System

Ciel & Terre has introduced FUSIO, a Make in India–developed floating solar solution created after four years of R&D and now ready for large-scale deployment following a successful pilot. The system marks a major step forward in high-performance floating PV technology.

FUSIO uses a patented triangular float design arranged in a honeycomb pattern, providing stronger load distribution, better structural stability, and enhanced resistance to wind and wave forces. Its elevated module setup increases rear airflow, enabling 2–3% higher energy output compared to conventional FPV systems, while also reducing water surface coverage to support aquatic ecosystems. The platform supports adjustable tilt angles of 5° or 12°.

Deepak Ushadevi, MD & CEO of Ciel & Terre India, said the innovation demonstrates how floating solar can deliver economic, environmental, and social benefits more effectively than traditional models.

The solution also upgrades O&M practices with a specially designed maintenance boat, offering safe access to panels and allowing float repositioning without workers needing to walk on floating structures—significantly reducing risks and potential panel damage.
