A highly successful Two-Day Workshop on Floating Solar Technology was recently conducted in Vadodara, Gujarat, organized by SCGJ & EY India in association with GETRI & GORenewable Technology (GRT). This initiative, supported under the Indo-German Energy Programme (GIZ India) on behalf of BMZ, focused on land-neutral and dual-use innovative solar applications (NISA) to drive India's solar revolution.

Key Highlights of the Workshop:

  • Deep Dive into Solar Technologies – Discussions on Floating Photovoltaics (FPV), Agrivoltaics (APV), and Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV).
  • Hands-on Learning – Real-world case studies and virtual project tours for practical exposure.
  • Policy & Finance Discussions – Expert insights on regulatory frameworks, financial models, and incentives to scale floating solar projects.
  • Industry Insights & Skill Development – Cutting-edge research and capacity-building efforts to strengthen India's green energy transition.
  • Certified Training – 38 professionals successfully trained and certified, enhancing workforce expertise in the renewable energy sector.

The workshop, held on March 6-7, 2025, brought together industry experts, policymakers, and renewable energy professionals to advance the adoption of floating solar and innovative solar applications in India. With a strong emphasis on knowledge exchange, R&D collaborations, and policy support, this initiative is set to accelerate India's clean energy transition while addressing land constraints in solar deployment.

A big congratulations to the organizers, trainers, and participants for contributing to a brighter and greener future through solar innovation!
