FS India Secures SECI Contract to Supply 260 MWp DCR Solar PV Modules for Madhya Pradesh Project

Nov 11, 2025

FS India Solar Ventures, a subsidiary of First Solar, has emerged as the winner in the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction to supply 260 MWp of domestically manufactured solar PV modules, featuring Made-in-India solar cells, for a large-scale project in Badnawar, Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh.

The total contract value stands at approximately Rs 474.11 crore, and the complete module supply is required to be delivered within 12 months of award. The tender for this procurement was issued in April 2025.

Under the scope of work, FS India will handle the manufacturing, testing, packing, forwarding, supply, and transportation of the PV modules to the designated project site.

According to the tender specifications, the modules can be monocrystalline (monofacial or bifacial) or thin-film CdTe types. The supplier is also mandated to provide 0.5% of the awarded capacity as mandatory spare modules, ensuring operational reliability for the project.

The tender further requires that both solar photovoltaic (SPV) cells and modules be manufactured domestically in line with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) standards and testing guidelines under the Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) policy.

In line with quality assurance provisions, the supplied modules must carry a minimum 10-year warranty against material, manufacturing, and workmanship defects, and a 25-year performance warranty on power output, as per the bidder’s declared degradation curve.

This contract reinforces FS India’s growing presence in India’s solar manufacturing ecosystem and supports the country’s broader objective of strengthening domestic solar production capacity under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
