Gurugram Complex Reduces Power Bills with 185 kWp Rooftop and BIPV Solar Project

Nov 11, 2025

In a major step toward sustainability, Chimes, a prominent commercial complex in Gurugram, Haryana, has installed a 185 kWp rooftop and building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) solar system to reduce its carbon footprint and operational costs.

Executed by Solluz Energy in March 2024, the system has been consistently generating around 25,000 units of electricity per month, meeting nearly 25% of the complex’s total energy demand. The project is expected to achieve a return on investment (ROI) within 3.5 years from commissioning.

The installation combines Trina 575 Wp Mono PERC modules, Sungrow 125 kW and 50 kW string inverters, and HDGI mounting structures to ensure optimal performance and durability.

A key highlight of the project is its innovative 90-degree vertical BIPV solar wall, designed to overcome rooftop space constraints while maintaining the building’s aesthetic appeal. This approach maximizes the use of available façade surfaces for solar generation — a rare example of BIPV application in India’s commercial real estate sector.

Spanning 20,000 sq. ft., the project operates under DHBVNL’s 11 kV net metering setup, enabling seamless power export and operational efficiency.

“By integrating solar panels vertically through BIPV technology, we not only optimized limited space but also delivered an aesthetically appealing and high-performing installation. This project truly reflects our mission to empower businesses with clean, reliable, and future-ready energy solutions,” said Karan Kalra, CEO of Solluz Energy.
